Comfort Independent Living is a Kentucky state Certified Personal Service Agency. We are a family-owned non-franchise business and have been in business since 2011. We started this busines because of our background. I studied at University of Kentucky and was attending Physician’s Assistant school when I had to have an emergency abdominal surgery. It was life changing and I began to work for my mother’s Adult Day and Residential Center for adults with intellectual and physical disabilities’. Working in this environment I saw there was a great need for non-medical home care. In November of 2011 we opened Comfort Independent Living a Personal Service Agency to provide those type of services in central and southcentral Kentucky.

So, each client is assessed a personalized plan of care is put into action. As a part of that plan, we incorporated the physical needs as well as the social and emotional issues that surround aging. The plan also includes finding the appropriate caregiver with the technical capacity as well as the social skills to match the client’s needs.

Comfort Independent Living understands that some seniors prefer one-on-one care, which allows for a much more flexible daily routine that the client can choose on their own. It’s very important for our clients to choose how they want to spend their day, whether it’s watching a movie or reading a good book, or just relaxing.
With an increase in safety precautions due to the pandemic, new protocols and modifications have been made to reassure clients remain safe in their own homes.
All of our current caregivers, as well as future caregivers, have been through extensive training for Covid-19; WE follow ALL CDC guidelines while working with and around all clients. We have implemented a questionnaire before each shift begins to ensure that both the client and caregiver are not experiencing any symptoms related to Covid-19.
